1….as you are all well aware, Spirit is the greatest Australian Beagle in the history of all time and space and yesterday was her birthday….she got a rad new collar with skulls embroidered on it and some cool new toys….sorry for the lack of posts lately I’ve been insanely busy…..more soon….

….I spent the first part of this week helping Francisco install my work for the show this weekend….(he actually did most of the work)….and Bernadette stopped by to snap these sneak preview images….the exhibition space is really unique and super-cool….come out on Saturday and see everything in person!!!!….

….when I went out to get the post today I found the greatest package ever waiting for me….it was sent by one of my best students of all time and one of the most talented up-and-coming artists of the 21st century, Kyle Zimmerman….here is a photo of a woodcut that Kyle created based on a photo of Scully when she was a baby….Kyle will have a piece in the show next weekend, come and check it out, you won’t be disappointed….

….we’ve been growing a fig tree on our balcony….it was grown from a clipping taken from the original fig tree that Bernadette’s grandfather brought over from Italy….yesterday we picked our first ever fig….yummy….

….here’s another sneak preview of work in progress for my upcoming show….this image has been ruminating for awhile….

….sometimes after I start a large painting I work on a small sketch of the same piece, which is pretty much the opposite of how most people work, but I find that if I sketch something first it predicts too much and doesn’t give me enough freedom, so I’ll do a few sketches once the large piece is well underway, then hopefully I’ll figure out a few new things and go back and finish the large piece….
